It’s Holiday time! It may seem a little early to be talking about the end of the year parties. But here in the USA they start in October and go until December. During September there is Harvest time, when the houses begin to be decorated with scarecrows, in October we celebrate Halloween, in November Thanksgiving and in December Christmas and New Year.
Autumn began on September 23rd. The Harvest time is when one of nature's most beautiful phenomena occurs. The leaves change color, fall, the last fruits are harvested for the winter. It is a time of transformation, of change, to cherish everything that was sowed and cropped and to thank for the harvest. We can then make a reflection about life.
Now it's time to find pumpkins in every grocery store. Pumpkins of all sizes, shapes and colors. A good opportunity to make some of the typical dishes of Brazil, shrimp in the “moranga”, a kind of pumpkin. For dessert, pumpkin sweet with coconut, humm! I consider these small luxuries to make life warmer.
